Parent & Guest Orientation Program

Families play an important role in a students’ transition to college. We want to support you by introducing Chico State resources for you and your student. Please join us this summer for our free virtual Parent and Guest Webinar Series. 

We will offer three separate virtual webinars. Please do not come to campus as these sessions will be all conducted online. Below are the sessions and topics. Each session is free and will last about an hour. No registration is required. Tuesday, June 15 at 4:00pm: 

Advising, Paying for College, First Year Experience, University Housing

This kick off session will include information on paying for college by our Financial Aid and Scholarships Office and Student Financial Services offices. Our First Year Experience program and academic advisors will share their role and how they support students, and University Housing will provide an overview of our residence hall, room types, dining options, and off campus housing options. A question and answer session will follow.

Tuesday, July 13 at 4:00pm:

Paying for College, Chico State Wildcat Store, University Police Department, Q&A with Current Students

This session will begin with information on paying paying for college by our Financial Aid and Scholarships Office and Student Financial Services offices. The Chico State Wildcat Store will give information on what services they offer, how to purchase textbooks, etc. Our University Police Department will share information about campus and community safety, as well as other services their department provides. Webinar will conclude with a question and answer session with current Chico State students.

Wednesday, August 11 at 4:00pm:

Parent and Family Engagement, Paying for College, University Housing, WellCat Counseling Center, Academic Support and Student Involvement and Engagement

During this session, attendees will receive information on paying for college by our Financial Aid and Scholarships Office and Student Financial Services offices.University Housing will provide an overview of our residence hall, room types, dining options, and off campus housing option, followed by representation from a current faculty member. Hear from the WellCat Counseling Center about services this resource provides, as well as learn all about academic support available from the Student Learning Center and the Accessibility Resource Center. This session will conclude with information about student involvement from the Associated Students, as well as the Student Life and Leadership office.

Additional Housing Webinars are also available!
