Explore the following categories and their submission guidelines.

**Up to two pieces of work may be submitted per category.

Submission Requirements:

Please send submissions based on the following naming conventions and file types and sizes below.

If you will be making two submissions in a single category place a 1 and 2 in the filename, for example: DigitalPhotography_lastname_firstname_1_2022ECGA.jpg and DigitalPhotography_lastname_firstname_2_2022ECGA.jpg

Multiple forms must be submitted for multiple entries. Please refer to  Official Rules for submission requirements and eligibility.

If more than one student is involved with a submission please provide all names involved with submitted work. 

Categories are for renders created in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022. This also includes group projects such as in 373, 495 and 545 that were due after the ECGA deadline and not entered in ECGA last year, the previous Spring term. 

Digital Photography: 

  • Submit file as a .jpg
  • No animations or flipbooks in this category.
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1024 x 1024 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: DigitalPhotography_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

Digital Concept Art: 

  • Any digital medium that qualifies as a still image – no animation or movement but may include character sheets and storyboard.
  • Submit file as a .jpg
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: ConceptArt_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

Digital Animation (Individual):  

  • Including: digital flipbooks, animatics, 2D animations and 3D animations created by a single person.
  • Works include: character action, story-based, or animations from a larger work such as video game or large-scale animation in this category.
  • Submit work as a MOV, MP4, or AVI file
  • Also submit a still render that represents your animation in a single shot
  • Animation resolutions should be 720 x 480, 960 x 540 or 1280 x 720 pixels
  • Still image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Animation naming convention: DigitalAnimation_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA(.mov or .mp4)
  • Still render naming convention: DigitalAnimation_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

Digital Animation (Open):

3D Modeling (Character):  

  • The category is for renders in a 3D application or a game engine of 3D characters. 
  • Submit file as a .jpg
  • No animations in this category
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: 3DCharacterModeling_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

3D Modeling (Environment): 

  • The category is for renders in a 3D application or a game engine of 3D environments. 
  • Submit file as a .jpg
  • No animations in this category
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: 3DEnvironmentModeling_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

3D Modeling (Prop): 

  • The category is for renders in a 3D application or a game engine of 3D props. 
  • Submit file as a .jpg
  • No animations in this category
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: 3DPropModeling_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

Game (Mobile):  

  • The category is for finished or electronic prototypes of mobile games
  • Submit game and fly-through, gameplay footage, or trailer of game (MOV or MP4 file)
  • Also submit a still render that represents your game in a single shot
  • Submit still file as a .jpg
  • Submit Zip file of entire project
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: Mobile_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg

Game:  

  • The category is for finished or electronic prototypes of games (non-mobile)
  • Submit game and fly-through, gameplay footage, or trailer of game (MOV or MP4 file)
  • Also submit a still render that represents your game in a single shot
  • Submit still file as a .jpg
  • Submit Zip file of entire project
  • Image resolutions should be minimum of 1920 x 1080 pixels – larger preferred for printing purposes up to  4k size.
  • Naming convention: Game_lastname_firstname_2022ECGA.jpg
