College of Engineering, Computer Science & Construction Management

BS in Concrete Industry Management

Program Highlights

  • Strong Academia-Industry Partnership: The program has maintained its strong connection with the concrete industry. Because of this academia-industry tie, the CIM has been able to have a 100% job placement right after graduation, to rise funding for the program. The CIM industry group (patrons group) has donated more than $3.5 million since the inception of the program in 2006. This money has enabled the program to give scholarships to students, send students for professional development events, and purchase lab equipment. • The CIM students and faculty are actively involved in extracurricular activities, such as community service project, student competitions, and research projects. The community service project at Sierra View Elementary school and the research project on Rice Straw Fiber(opens in new window) are excellent examples of the CIM program commitment to extracurricular activities. Because of our participation in national student competitions and events, the CIM program received the ACI (American Concrete Institute) 2016 Outstanding University award.

  • The CIM faculty has been able to maintain an active student-centered research program. This is evident from research publications and presentations at professional conferences and events.
  • CIM Program Coordinator Dr. Feraidon Ataie was recently named ASTM International Professor of the Year. The recognition notes his exemplary use of ASTM standards in the classroom. Click here to read more about the designation and Feraidon's work.
