Scholarships & Aid

CSU, Chico uses the Wildcat Scholarship Application for most University scholarships. The Wildcat Scholarship Application is available annually from January 2- February 15 for the next academic year. Scholarships may be based or give preference to financial need which is determined by your FAFSA or CADAA. Some major programs require supplemental materials to also be submitted for consideration.

The College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management (ECC) does manage department or program specific scholarships. More information can be found on ECC department-specific sites.

  • More than one major program considered

    Chico Engineering Scholarship: Upper division student in any College of ECC major that attended a Chico area high school. GPA 2.5+

    Colleen & Jon Wrysinski Scholarship: Engineering or Computer Science majors. Awarded in fall terms. GPA 2.75+

    Dave & Frances Ramme Scholarship- Engineering: Any Engineering major. Preference given to Butte College graduates. GPA 3.0+

    David & Karen Egly Scholarship: Engineering or Computer Science majors. GPA 3.0+

    Dean's Fund for Excellence in Engineering: All College of ECC majors and class levels. Criteria determined by the College Dean.

    ECC Academic and Performance Scholarship: Incoming first year or transfer students with demonstrated academic achievements. Any College of ECC major. GPA 3.0+

    Grimm Family Engineering Scholarship: Continuing Engineering students (soph, junior, senior or graduate). GPA 3.0+

    Herbert F. Langdon Scholarship: Students in Engineering majors that display outstanding potential.

    Industry Action Council Scholarship: All College of ECC majors and class levels. Must be part of the MESA/MEP/CSC2 program.

    MESA Engineering Program Scholarships: All College of ECC majors and undergraduate in the MESA/MEP/CSC2 Engineering Program or recruited by the program. GPA 2.5+. This scholarship is not awarded through the Wildcat Scholarship Application. Refer to CSC2 Program for specific details.

    Reuben Bond Memorial Scholarship: Upper division or graduate student in Computer, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.

    Whetstone Family Scholarship: Continuing/Transfer Engineering students (soph, junior, senior or graduate). GPA 2.5+

  • Civil Engineering Majors

    Note: Civil Engineering (CE) students need to submit both a Wildcat and CE application to be considered for CE scholarships.  

    Andy J. Roberts Memorial Award: Any class level. Preference given to students who have had to overcome a significant obstacle. 

    AztlanScholarship: Continuing or transfer student (soph or junior). Must be in MESA/MEP/CSC2 program.

    Civil Engineering Department Scholarship: All class levels. Criteria determined by the Civil Engineering Department.

    David Lagerlef Civil Engineering Scholarship: Continuing student (soph, junior, senior). 

    Dennis P. Murphy Endowed Scholarship for Civil Engineering: Any class level. Must demonstrate evidence of leadership. 

    Gary & Loreene Watters Scholarship: Continuing upper division student (junior or senior; preference given to students with at least a full academic year remaining). Student has to have completed CIVL 311 and 321 by at the time of award selection and demonstrate an enthusiasm for learning. GPA 3.3+

    George Nickelson Engineering Scholarship: Continuing or transfer student in any Engineering major (soph, junior, senior). Preference given to Civil Engineering majors. GPA 2.0+

    Margaret & Maurice Mow Scholarship: Continuing student (soph, junior, senior). GPA 2.3+

    Ringel & Associates, Inc. Scholarship: Continuing upper division student (junior or senior) that shows leadership qualities, initiative and academic excellence.

  • Concrete Industry Management Majors

    Concrete Industry Management First Year & Performance Scholarships: All class levels. This scholarship is not awarded through the Wildcat Scholarship Application. Refer to CIM website for specific details.

  • Construction Management Scholarships

    Beavers Heavy Construction Scholarship: Continuing upper division student (junior or senior). Construction Management or Civil Engineering majors. GPA 2.5+. Preference given to students that have completed or secured an upcoming an internship/job in heavy construction or civil contractor. 

    Brad & Christen KaufmanScholarship: Incoming or continuing student (first year, soph, junior) with a demonstrated committment to community service. GPA 2.75+.

    Elliot Family Foundation Construction Management Scholarship: First year or transfer students. GPA 3.0+. Preference given to students who have participated in construction management clubs/organizations/competition at CSU, Chico or community college/previous institution. 

    InterWest Insurance Services Construction Practice Group (IWCPG) Scholarship: Continuing or transfer upper division students (junior or senior). Preference given to students who have participated in construction management clubs, GPA 3.0+

    Kyle Robert Morton MemorialScholarship: All class levels. Must demonstrate the desire to work and provide leadership in the CM industry. GPA 3.5+

    Mack Reynolds Memorial Scholarship: All class levels. Student must be actively involved in community service projects ideally through a CM student organization.

  • Computer Science & Computer Information Systems

    Andrew Southard Scholarship: Continuing students in either major (first year, soph, junior, senior, graduate) that have completed 12 or more units.

    Chevron Corporation Computer Science Scholarship: Continuing students (soph, junior, senior, graduate) in either undergraduate major or graduate program. Preference given to those with a demonstrated knowledge and interest in the energy industry and/or holds a leadership role in a student club or organization and/or a senior year or graduate student that has completed an internship in thefield. GPA 3.3+

    Dale D. Stevenson Memorial Scholarship: Continuing senior in either major or graduate student . GPA 3.5+

    George Arnovick Scholarship: Continuing or transfer upper division student (junior or senior). Student must exemplify the goals and misson of the CSCI Department.

    Jeffrey Jay Hagen Memorial Scholarship: Continuing or transfer students. GPA 3.5+

    Norman K. Tu Scholarship: Upper division (junior or senior) student in Computer Science. GPA 3.5+

    Ray Stapleton Family Scholarship: Continuing students (soph, junior, senior). GPA 3.0+

    W. Gary Sitton Memorial Scholarship- Computer Science: First year or transfer students in Computer Science.

  • Computer and Electrical/Electronic Engineering Scholarships

    Academic Excellence Scholarship for Electrical and Computer Engineering: First year or transfer students in either major.

    Howlett Electrical Engineering Scholarship: Continuing upper division Electrical Engineering students (junior or senior). GPA 3.0+

    Narain G. & Joyce Hingorani Scholarships: Continuing upper division student (senior or graduate) in either major. Preference given to graduate students working on ONR Program Research. GPA 3.0+

    Saad H. Amer Memorial Electrical Engineering Scholarship: Upper division Electrical Engineering students (junior or senior). Must demonstrate superior academic accomplishment in engineering, science, and math courses.

  • Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing & Applied Robotics

    Arthur C. Coggins Engineering Scholarship: All class levels in Mechanical Engineering. Preference given to those with an interest in the area of energy.

    Bill Wesley Brown Kiwanis Industrial TechnologyScholarship: All class levels in Advanced Manufacturing & Applied Robotics.

    C. Bradley Page Industrial Technology Scholarship (ITEC): Upper division students in any major. Must demonstrate academic excellence and potential to succeed. Preference given to Advanced Manufacturing & Applied Robotics. GPA 3.0+

    Carroll A. Curtis Memorial Scholarship: All MMEM majors and class levels. GPA 2.0+

    Dale Newton Memorial Scholarship: Any MMEM major and class level with demonstrated academic excellence and strong moral character. Preference given to students with interests in aerodynamics, fluid mechanic, or thermal sciences. GPA 3.0+

    Dr. Savio & Pattie Woo Outstanding Engineering Student Scholarship: Continuing MMEM majors (soph, junior, senior). GPA 3.0+

    Mitchell A. Padula Memorial Scholarship: All class levels in Mechanical Engineering. Preference given to students with a GPA from 2.0-2.5. Will consider up to 3.0 if no eligible applicants apply.
