Salary Increases for State Employees
General Salary Increases (GSI) for State Employees
California State University Employees Union (CSUEU - Units 2, 5, 7, and 9), California Faculty Association (CFA – Unit 3), Statewide University Police Association (SUPA – Unit 8), and United Auto Workers Local 4123 (UAW – Unit 11) have completed negotiations for the 2024/2025 general salary increases for their members, and the Board of Trustees has ratified the collective bargaining agreements. The Chancellor’s Office (CO) issued the technical letters that define campus processing details for these 2024/2025 salary increases.
We have not received any information from the CO regarding MPP Personnel, Confidential staff, or APC (Unit 4) employees.
CSUEU (Unit 2, 5, 7 and 9)
- 5% General Salary Increase (GSI) effective July 1, 2024, will be applied to the individual salary rates of eligible employees. An employee must have been on active pay status or on leave in a CSUEU (Units 2, 5, 7 and 9) position as of July 1, 2024, to be eligible for the 2024/2025 GSI.
CFA (Unit 3)
- 5% General Salary Increase (GSI) effective July 1, 2024, will be applied to the individual salary rates of eligible employees. An employee must have been on active pay status or on leave in a CFA (Unit 3) position as of July 1, 2024, to be eligible for the 2024/2025 GSI. Additional information regarding other negotiated CFA increases will be communicated by Faculty Affairs and Success.
- Salary Range Minimum Increases beyond 5% GSI:
- The salary range minimums, SSI maximums, and salary range maximums for all faculty classifications will be increased by the 5% GSI amount effective July 1, 2024.
- The salary range minimums of Lecturer A classifications, which include corresponding assistant professors, coaches, counselors, and librarians, will be increased an additional $3,000 annually each for academic year appointments and the equivalent for other pay plans.
SUPA (Unit 8)
- 5% General Salary Increase (GSI) effective July 1, 2024, will be applied to the individual salary rates of eligible employees. An employee must have been on active pay status or on leave in a SUPA (Unit 8) position as of July 1, 2024, to be eligible for the 2024/2025 GSI.
UAW (Unit 11)
- 5% General Salary Increase (GSI) effective July 1, 2024, will be applied to the individual salary rates of eligible employees. An employee must have been on active pay status or on leave in an UAW (Unit 11) position as of July 1, 2024, to be eligible for the 2024/2025 GSI. Any UAW student employees reappointed in 2024/2025 into the same class and range at the same campus as in fiscal year 2023/2024 are also eligible for the GSI.
This base salary increase will be incorporated into the August 2024 paycheck (August 30, 2024, issue date). The retroactive portion (July 2024) of the salary increase will be issued on a separate check.
