The Chicano/ Latino Council is an organization comprised of Chicano/ Latino faculty and staff at California State University, Chico who are committed to actively promoting the Chicano/ Latino community on this campus and in the broader Chico area.
The broader goals of the organization are:
- To develop a formalized network of Chicano/ Latino faculty, staff, and students at California State University, Chico.
- To involve itself and represent the Chicano@/Latin@ community in all aspects of the University.
- To serve as an advocate for addressing the concerns of Chicano/ Latino students, specifically their recruitment, admission, retention, and graduation.
- To address the need for increased recruitment, hiring, retention, and advancement of Chicano/ Latino faculty and staff.
- To establish stronger lines of communication with the surrounding community.
