NASP PREPaRE Workshop 2 (PDF)Free to LEA's within Butte County SELPA and Chico State School Psychology students.  Register hereMonday 6/10/24 and Tuesday 6/11/20248:30-4:00 p.m. both daysThis 2-day workshop develops the knowledge and skill required to provide immediate mental health crisis interventions to the students, staff, and school community members who have been simultaneously exposed to an acute traumatic stressor. The knowledge and skill developed within this session also help to build a bridge to the psychotherapeutic and trauma-informed mental health response sometimes required to address challenges associated with trauma exposure. This workshop is an excellent course for all mental health professionals in your district who provide mental health crisis intervention services. This includes school mental health staff (school psychologists, social workers, counselors, and nurses), administrators, and other individuals whom the team has identified as appropriate providers of psychological first aid.

This 2-day workshop offers 13 credit hours of documented NASP Approved CPD.

Workshop--Current Issues in Education: Creating Inclusive classroom 

  • candidates and education providers will have opportunities to practice microintervention strategies and difficult conversations that will help them create and maintain inclusive PK-12 classrooms as teachers.

This day-long workshop kicks off with a keynote speaker who is a distinguished clinician, researcher and consultant specializing in diversity and inclusion initiatives;  followed by readings and reflections; case-study problems of practice, facilitated by expert faculty; and  a panel consisting of  partner school district that implement school-wide restorative justice practices. Lunch will be provided. No cost for Chico State Credential Candidates. Sign-up details to follow.
