Dan Efseaff
Paradise Recreation and Park District
Dan Efseaff plays key roles in developing long-term recreation planning, wildland and wildfire management, and community building. The California Recreation and Park District Association awarded Mr. Efseaff with the 2019 Manager of the Year for his leadership following the Camp Fire. Mr. Efseaff has extensive experience as riparian restoration ecologist, and is an American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructor for both whitewater and sea kayaking. Mr. Efseaff has a B.S. in Environmental Toxicology from U.C. Davis and a M.S. in Ecology from C.S.U. Chico, where he researched the interaction of riparian tree roots with soil types.
"I've always enjoyed sharing experiences in nature with students and family. Following the Camp Fire, this seemed critical to expanding those experiences with the Community. Forest Therapy is an excuse to get out in nature and feel like I'm experiencing something new for the first time."
