About CMSE
The Center for Mathematics and Science Education was established on the CSU, Chico campus in 1993. We are a non-profit organization serving as a regionwide liaison between the University, colleges, K-12 schools, and the business community in the areas of mathematics and science education.

The Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the understanding of mathematics and science at all age levels, both through enhancing education and for a more informed society.
Mission Statement
The Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the students and faculty of California State University, Chico and specifically the College of Natural Sciences faculty in their efforts to increase the understanding of mathematics and science at all age levels. CMSE supports projects and programs promoting mathematics and science education for Northern California educators and students.
The Center's mission is to strengthen K-16 teaching practices in mathematics and science by:
- Helping undergraduates enter the teaching profession as competent and confident facilitators of math and science content knowledge (Preservice)
- Providing professional development for practicing teachers (Inservice)
- Supporting K-12 outreach activities of the College of Natural Sciences (Outreach)
