Event Parking

Departments wanting to host an event on campus should check with Facilities Reservations and Event Service(opens in new window) for direction.

Paid parking permits are required in all campus lots Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Restrictions apply as posted within each lot.

Vendors and catering vehicles must comply with campus access restrictions.

Campus Department Sponsored Permits

While there is no free parking on campus, sponsored permits are available for purchase by campus departments only. A Sponsored Permit is available in two options: a physical hang-tag permit to be displayed in the vehicle OR a digital permit, based on the vehicle license plate.  For either option, please contact Student Financial Services.  These permits are not available for purchase by guests.

Sponsored permits:

  • Are not intended for use by students or employees of the University.
  • Can be purchased in advance by a host campus group.
    • Hang-Tag permits: It is the host department's responsibility to distribute the permits to event guests. Blank permits not filled out by host departments are subject to citation.
    • Digital Permits: it is the guest responsibility to enter accurate vehicle identifiers.
  • Are valid for one day only in any “G” stall on campus between 7:30 am and 10:00 pm.
  • After 5:00 pm, a sponsored permit is valid in most parking stalls on campus with the exception of on campus residential lots or those stalls posted for state or other campus vehicles only.
  • Are also valid in any campus disabled stall when displayed with a valid DMV placard.

Purchase of the permits can be coordinated through Student Financial Services in the Student Services Center Room 230 or by calling 530-898-5936.

Restrictions

Having a sponsored permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking space nor does it exempt guests from campus parking regulations. As with any parking violation, a citation may be issued if a vehicle is found to be parked illegally.

Alterations to permit will result in a citation issued to the user.
