Sports Officials

Recreational Sports is always looking for Chico State students to officiate our sports leagues. Opportunities exist in both the fall and spring semesters. Sports include flag football, soccer, indoor soccer, basketball, 3-on-3 basketball, and softball. Stick with one or try them all!

Sports officials can expect 5-20 hours of work per week (an average is 10-12) depending on availability.

Event Managers

Recreational Sports hires students to assist professional staff manage and facilitate intramural sports leagues, home sport club contests, and special events.  Students in this position will primarily work weeknights and some weekends.  All Event Manager positions require current certification in CPR and first aid.

Event Managers can expect 5-20 hours of work per week (an average is 10-12) depending on availability.

Athletic Training Student Assistant

Recreational Sports hires students to assist the Recreational Sports Professional staff in order to accomplish day-to-day tasks associated with Intramurals, Special Events, Sport Clubs, and programming within Recreational Sports. Students in this position will primarily work weeknights and some weekends.  All Atheltic Training Student Supervisor positions require current certification in CPR and first aid.

Athletiuc Student Training Asssitants can expect 5-20 hours of work per week (an average is 10-12) depending on availability.

Camp Counselor

Recreational Sports hires students to work during the summer hours as a counselor for Adventure Day Camp. Adventure Day Camp runs nine weeks throughout the summer for children ages 6-12. Counselors usually work 40 hours a week during these times and have the opportunity to continue working for Recreational Sports during the school year. Counselors must be first aid/CPR/AED certified and have experience working with youth. Lifeguard certification is preferred.
