The mobile Sierra Oro Farm & Wine Pass – a collaboration between the Sierra Oro Farm Trail and Explore Butte County - opens the door to world-class specialty farms and wineries throughout Butte County. Guests hungry for a unique hands-on adventure can enjoy an expanded harvest celebration where visitors can stroll through farms to pick fresh apples from the tree or pumpkins from the vines, sample artisan olive oils, specialty nuts and award-winning wines, all while getting to know the dedicated farmers and winemakers.

“The Sierra Oro Farm Trail is expanding so that we can welcome more guests with an enhanced experience, fewer crowds and more specials. Additionally, this shift to a month-long tour allows guests more time to spread out and enjoy their favorite stops at their leisure without having to rush,” said Nicole Johansson, organizer of the Sierra Oro Farm Trail.

Mobile Food & Wine Pass holders can set their own pace as they explore a variety of more than 30 farms and wineries along the Sierra Oro Farm Trail the entire month of October. Hours for each stop are posted within the mobile pass, convenient for pre-planning touring routes. The University Farm Meats Laboratory is open Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Here’s how it works:

  • Once a Farm & Wine Pass is purchased at www.sierraoro.org, mobile pass holders will receive a text and an email confirming purchase.
  • Instructions will guide the pass holder to save the pass to the home screen on their smart phone for future easy access.
  • As pass holders travel the trail, they will check in and redeem offers at each farm and winery they visit.
  • The pass will unlock special discounts unique to each location. The University Farm Meats Laboratory is offering 50% off one package of its famous Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage.
  • Pass offers can only be used once at each participating venue.
  • Special events will pop-up throughout the month of October to surprise pass holders with new offers and experiences available exclusively through their digital pass.

The passes will be available for online purchase at Sierraoro.org beginning August 9, 2021 and will be for sale throughout the month of October for $40.00 per person. Children 12 and under are free. The value of the pass tastings, discounts and experiences exceeds $150.

Another way to partake in the bountiful harvest is to have a limited-edition commemorative tasting box delivered to your doorstep. Sierra Oro Tasting boxes are available in collaboration with Sohnrey Family Foods.
