Belonging to and participating in clubs and organizations create tremendous benefits, including adapting to university life, making lasting friendships, learning about organizational structure and leadership, and providing a social outlet. Acquaintances made in these activities become a professional and personal network you will use throughout your career.

The College of Agriculture offers a wide variety of opportunities for students. Additionally, we rely on student leaders and organizations to assist our departments, research centers, and college in a variety of ways, including many competitions and activities which originate and/or are supported by student clubs. We encourage and need your involvement. We urge you to join the leaders in science, technology, and management.

Alpha Zeta

Alpha Zeta is a professional organization of men and women whose educational and career objectives fall within the broadly defined field of agriculture and natural resources, dedicated to the highest levels of scholarship, leadership, integrity, and service. CA-Eta was founded in 2005. Alpha Zeta has multiple service projects throughout the school year, including support for College of Agriculture events and various other community service projects.

Collegiate FFA

Collegiate FFA's mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Collegiate FFA provides a number of professional development opportunities to help students get an edge in today’s job market. Whether you are looking for a career in education or industry, Collegiate FFA has what you need to jump start your career!

Crop Science and Horticulture Club

The CSU, Chico Crop Science and Horticulture Club offers an organization designed to help connect persons with similar majors or common interests in the field of agriculture and general plant science. The Crop Science and Horticulture Club works to engage in activities at the campus farm and sometimes conduct fundraising efforts by selling plants and agricultural produce.

Pre-Veterinary Network

The Pre-veterinary Network is an advising network for students interested in going to Veterinary School after graduation.  Their mission is to develop strategies for students to become more competitive in the veterinary and graduate school application process, while networking with professional school and industry representatives.

Sigma Alpha

Sigma Alpha is a National Professional Agriculture Sorority with a local chapter here at California State University, Chico. Sigma Alpha is committed to promoting women in agriculture and encourages members to strive for scholarship, leadership, and service.

As a chapter Sigma Alpha participates in several professional development, philanthropic, and just plain fun activities. Past calendar of events have included Ag Day on Campus, Agriculture in The Classroom, The Boys and Girls Club Community Challenge, The Durham Pump Picnic, as well as monthly sisterhood events and business meetings.

Society of Ag Managers

The Society of Ag Managers work to provide opportunity for agricultural students at California State University, Chico to develop a better understanding of and appreciation for the agri-business sector. Members of the association will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with other members and professionals within the agricultural industry. Members will be able to develop personal contacts and become better informed of employment opportunities. S.A.M strives to provide activities to promote leadership, organizational, and communication skills of its members. 

Stock Dog Association

The purpose of the Stock Dog Association is to promote the understanding and training of stockdogs for their use in the livestock industry and to develop livestock handling skills among our fellow students.

Young Cattlemen's Association

Chico State Young Cattlemen's Association is part of a statewide organization and affiliated with the California Cattlemen's Association, with a goal to educate those either in the cattle industry or who wish to become involved. Through monthly meetings, seminars, workshops, and field day events, YCA works to keep students, cattlemen, and the community up to date with current issues pertaining to the cattle industry.
