A Friendly Campus Competition: Contests for Individuals, Departments, and Offices

Costume Contest

Staff Council’s annual costume contest is back!  You can participate as an individual or team up with your office, department, or other group.  All contest entries and voting will be online.  If you want to show off your costume in front of an audience, you’ll have a chance to walk the runway at Koffee & Kudos.  Trophies are awarded for best Individual Costume, Group Costume, and a People's Choice Award.

  • To enter the Costume Contest send your best picture (only 1) of your individual or group costume to stac@csuchico.edu by noon on October 31st
  • You cannot submit an entry for an individual costume if you are submitting as part of a group costume.
  • Please include a name for your costume, even if it should be obvious.
  • Please see this guidance on costume selection (PDF).  Staff Council has the right to eliminate any inappropriate submissions.

Outstanding Performance Contest

We encourage you to submit a video for the Performance Contest!  This contest is wide open - Associated Students, who won for many years in a row, was declared our "Showstoppers in Perpetuity", and while they may still perform, they are no longer competing.

  • To enter the contest, please submit a video of your performance (video submission cannot exceed 3 minutes) to stac@csuchico.edu by noon on October 31st
  • If you would like to perform at the Halloween Koffee & Kudos, please let the Staff Council office know in advance so we can work out details.

Office Decorating Contest

The Halloween Office Decoration contest was amazing last year and it's on again!  To enter, have your office decorated by Tuesday, October 29. Staff Council judges will come by Tuesday or Wednesday.  Fill out the participation form so we will know to visit your office.

Contest Judging

  • The Individual and Group Costume Contests and the Performance will be judged by a panel of non-conflicted parties.
  • There will be an opportunity for all staff to vote electronically for the People's Choice Award.
