Meet with an Advisor: Visit regularly with your major advisor as well as staff in the Student Success Office. All of us in the College of Agriculture are here to help you succeed, and career planning is one of our favorite conversations!

Attend a Career Fair: The College of Agriculture offers an annual Agriculture Career and Internship Fair at the University Farm, as a supplement to the many career fairs offered by the Chico State Career Center each year. Internship Course(opens in new window): Already have an internship lined up? Follow these steps(opens in new window) to ensure you receive course credit for your internship.

Working at the University Farm:

  • Most jobs at the University Farm begin as internships through ANSC 199 or PSSC 309. Talk to your advisor about how to register for these classes.
  • Sometimes jobs open at the University Farm for which previous internship experience is not required. These will usually be advertised by email from the Student Success & Retention Office or the College of Agriculture Academic Senator, so keep an eye on your Wildcat email.
  • As with all job searches, persistence pays off! If you want to work at a particular unit at the University Farm, contact the unit’s supervisor to express interest and follow up regularly. Call the University Farm Office at 530-898-6343 for contact information.
