Jon Timko

Jon (he/his) was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. He attended Chico State for Business Administration and then began his career in the housing industry working extensively with both Chico State and Butte College to house incoming students as Director at a privately owned dormitory. With over two decades of dedicated experience in student housing, Jon oversaw operations, residence life, resident programming, as well as commercial dining and retail, delivering a complete college experience to new incoming students to Chico. After his lengthy tenure in the private sector, Jon joined the University Housing Team in August of 2023.

Jon has built his career on helping develop our students as take their first steps into higher education, working at multiple levels of the new student experience to make Chico a welcoming new home for them as they pursue their academic endeavors. Jon values the mission of California State University, Chico and the tenets of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to help create a safe and nurturing environment for all who enter our halls to seek knowledge and build successful futures.

Jon is a skilled home cook and is a Disney and Star wars fan. He enjoys the outdoors and all things science and technology. You may find him hiking Upper Bidwell Park or learning about the newest tech and advancements driving innovation in modern times!
