About The Hub

The Hub is a common space at University Housing where residents can gather with friends, study, watch TV and movies, grab a snack and can play video games. There are two locations, one in Éstom Jámani Courtyard and another at University Village.

There are a lot of games in the Hub – from Chess to Cards Against Humanity. We have a microwave if you want to heat up your lunch and a tv to catch a show between classes. We have office supplies and a printer if you are running late to class!

The Hub offers a lot of free events – from arts and crafts opportunities to our Friday ‘Late Night in the Hub’ events. FREE FOOD is often included in Hub programs.

Joe (he/him) is a Northern California native born in Chico and lived most of his young life in Oroville. After graduating, he attended two years at Butte College and was inspired to move out of the state to attend a 4-year university. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he earned is Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration with a focus in Meeting and Event Planning.

After his undergraduate journey, he was accepted into the Disney College Program in Orlando Florida where he had the opportunity to work as an Attractions Cast Member at the ride Pirates of the Caribbean. After completion, he moved back to Northern California and found a position at Chico State with the Associated Students Dining Services. Joe started out working at the beloved Butte Station as his first job, then quickly moved to managing the Wildcat Den when I first opened.

From there, he stepped into a position as an Event and Programs Coordinator with the AS and helped put on some historical events for the campus community. Joe is now part of the housing team as the HUB Coordinator and is so excited to be part of the UH team.

In his spare time, Joe likes to cook with his partner, learn how to play video games, and has recently started to becoming a fan of Harry Potter (he’s a Hufflepuff). When he’s not doing any of these activities, he is studying for his Master’s Degree in Social Sciences here at Chico State.
