Kelly grew up in Michigan and went to college at Central Michigan University, where she studied math and American Sign Language. After graduation, Kelly moved to Tempe, AZ, to work in housing at Arizona State University. At ASU Kelly managed a dorm that housed first-year business students. After her time in AZ, Kelly moved to Chico to work in housing at CSU, Chico. Kelly worked in Housing for about a year, and the Dream Center and Star Center for a year, and then returned to University Housing to continue in her Residence Life Coordinator role.

Jul (she/they) was born and raised in upstate New York and is a proud product of the State University of New York system, having earned her associate degree in general studies from Corning Community College, her baccalaureate in Political Science from SUNY Cortland, and her master’s degree in higher education administration from University at Buffalo.

Jul started her professional career in student affairs at University at Buffalo as assistant hall director for residential education, focused on developing and growing living learning communities on campus. From there, Jul served in roles focusing on student housing, behavioral intervention, and crisis management at Arizona State University, Texas Woman’s University, and Texas Tech University. Jul recently started at CSU Chico as Residence Conduct Coordinator for University Village, giving her the opportunity to return to working with restorative justice practices in the student conduct realm.

Ever striving to expand her skills and knowledge, Jul is currently completing her master’s of social work at The Ohio State University and focusing her field work on creating space for social workers to succeed as student and academic affairs professionals within higher education. Her research and practice interests are addressing training and secondary trauma in professional staff and paraprofessional student staff, and creating supports for neuropergent college students with other marginalized identities.

In her free time, Jul enjoys playing video games, reading, listening to her vinyl collection, kayaking, traveling, and spending time with the people she loves and her pup Scarlet.
