Emily Mansilla (she/her)
Hello my friends! My name is Emily M. (she/her), and I am a Chico native currently attending Chico State while obtaining my M.A. in Psychological Science. In spring 2021, I graduated from Chico State with my B.A. in psychology, and before that, I transferred from Butte College. After obtaining my current degree, I'd like to enter the workforce working in data collection and research for organizations serving underserved populations. My goal as an Academic Coach is to help students learn the vital skills that will assist them not only in their academics but in their daily life as well. I like to guide students in identifying methods that will fit well into their schedules and current habits while strengthening their academic abilities through consistency and motivation. Having had a long academic career, I know how important it is to have support and encouragement in accessing all resources available to us as students. Additionally, I have a big dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion on campus in both my personal and professional roles on campus, which allows me to access a broad range of students seeking support. When I'm not working on my academics, I spend time with my partner, family, and friends. I particularly enjoy a good mystery novel and anything true crime!
