TB Testing
Fall 2024 After-Hours TB Clinics
We will be providing after-hours TB clinics for students on the following days:
- September 9, Monday, 5-7 pm
- September 11, Wednesday, 5-7 pm
- September 17, Tuesday, 5-7 pm (placement only)
- September 19, Thursday, 5-7 pm (reads only)
- September 23, Monday, 5-7 pm
- September 25, Wednesday, 5-7 pm

During Regular Business Hours - Testing Schedule (Appointment Only)
Testing is available during the following business hours:
- Monday: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
- Tuesday: 9:20 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
- Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Please note: TB tests cannot be placed on Thursdays.
What to Expect:
The TB skin test, or Mantoux tuberculin skin test, detects infection by M. tuberculosis. A positive result indicates exposure to the TB bacterium, requiring further testing to determine if it's latent TB infection or TB disease.

- Office Visit #1: Test Placement
- Wait 48-72 Hours
- Office Visit #2: Test Reading
Frequently Asked Questions - TB Testing
Does the Health Center offer TB tests? What is the cost?
Yes, the WellCat Health Center provides TB (PPD) testing on Monday and Tuesday. The test is free. Patients must return for a reading 48-72 hours after placement. Failure to return results in a $25 charge for a repeat test.
Are TB tests available daily during the semester?
No, testing is available only on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during the academic year.
Are TB tests available in the summer?
Yes, students can come in for placement on Monday or Tuesday.
