Professional Attire Fund - Fall 2024 Application
You have worked hard and are ready to start interviewing for internships and jobs. It is important that you make a positive impression during your job interview and events with potential employers. One element of that ever-important first impression is the clothing you wear to that interview or networking event. If you are getting ready to interview for a job, an internship, or need professional attire for professional events or conferences, let us know if we can help with the purchase. We want you to look your best!
We understand that buying professional attire can be expensive and somewhat difficult to manage for some students. Through the Professional Attire Fund, the College of Business (COB) at provides funding to support the purchase of professional attire for Chico State Business majors.
The Professional Attire Fund is a merit-based award that provides up to $500 in funding for Business Majors to purchase new professional attire to help secure a job or internship, or are attending a professional event. Attire includes suits, button-down shirts, blazers, cardigans, dress pants, blouses, ties, dress shirts, socks, and shoes. Awardees are not allowed to purchase casual attire, khakis, jeans of any kind, polo shirts, t-shirts, accessories, undergarments, work boots, uniforms, or lab attire.
Who can apply?
CSU, Chico students who are enrolled full-time as a Business Major, junior or senior standing, and must be in the pursuit of a professional opportunity. MBA students (campus and online programs) are also eligible to apply. Business Minors are not eligible for this award. Determination of who gets funded is based on merit, the strength of application materials, and availability of funds.

Professional Attire Fund - Fall 2024 ApplicationFunding Requirements
Funding requests may be fully funded, partially funded, or declined depending on an applicants financial need, strength of application materials, and the availability of funds. Approved applicants will schedule a meeting with the Business Student Success Center program coordinator to make the appropriate arrangements to fit the request. Approved applicants are required to return receipts from purchases. Failure to do so may result in loss (or repayment) of funding.

What attire can I purchase?

What attire is not allowed?
Items not allowed include casual attire, khakis, jeans of any kind, polo shirts, t-shirts, accessories, jewelry, underwear, watches, work boots, uniforms, or lab attire.
How many times can I apply?
Business majors can apply once per semester. Business majors can only receive funding to purchase professional attire one time during their undergraduate/graduate career at CSU, Chico.
Who approves funding requests?
A committee made up of the COB Associate Dean, the Business Student Success Center program coordinator, and one College of Business Academic Advisor.
Who supports the Professional Attire Fund?
