Business Internships

College of Business internships are a great way to gain real work experience. Build your resume and earn 3 course credits toward your business degree at CSU, Chico.

BADM 389 is used for all internships, excluding accounting. This course requires permission to enroll, contact Business Advising to find out more.  

What's involved?

Academic interns write a term paper and a brief reflection paper while completing their work duties to earn course credit. No lectures, no exams, no group projects! Plus, internships can be completed during the fall, spring, or summer terms, and can be done from anywhere across the globe.

Step 1: Find an internship at the Career Center Internship Page.

Step 2: Apply for academic credit

Once you have your internship experience set up, apply for academic credit by emailing the Department of Management at MGMT@csuchico.edu for the internship application, or go to the department office in Tehama 305. 

Your application will be reviewed for confirmation of your qualifications, which include:

  • Junior standing
  • A 2.50 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Completion of required prerequisites 

In addition to student requirements, the internship itself must include:

  • 150 hours of developmental work responsibilities 
  • A job description provided by the employer
  • Employer's approval
