Study Abroad & Exchange Returnee Opportunities

One of the first things students say to us when they return is, “How can I work for the Study Abroad & Exchange office?”

Internship Opportunities:
Each semester, the Study Abroad & Exchange office at Chico State offers students the opportunity to earn up to three units of academic credit through a semester- or year-long internship. The number of units awarded depends on the specific internship.

Paid Opportunities:
While paid positions are limited, we occasionally hire for the following roles when they become available:

These positions offer valuable professional experience in the field of international education. When open, they will be posted on Handshake and shared via our mailing list and social media channels.

Volunteer with the Study Abroad & Exchange team:

Throughout each semester, we arrange many events on campus to help educate our students and community about studying abroad / away and the benefits of the internationalization of our campus.

Some of these activities include:

  • International Education Week
  • International Movie Nights
  • Student Forums
  • Conversation, Culture, and Cuisine (CCC) - this always includes FREE food!
  • Become an "Alumni Ambassador" (speak/e-mail with future participants about your experience)
  • Country-specific Break Out Sessions at Orientation

We always need volunteers for these events. If you want to help us without the official commitment of an internship, contact Study Abroad & Exchange at (530) 898-5415 or e-mail sa_recruit@csuchico.edu.
